Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

No, Dr. Bradt works for you rather than the insurance company. We do not accept insurance and are not participating providers for any insurance company including Medicare and Medicaid. We provide an itemized receipt with every visit which can be sent to your private insurance company for out-of-network benefits (not Medicare or Medicaid).

How are visits billed?

Visit charges are based on the time spent with your physician. Initial appointments are 2 hours and follow up visits are typically 60-90 minutes and are billed in 15 minute increments.  We collect payment at the time of service.  Missed or cancelled appointments without 48 hrs notice are billed at 50% of the scheduled visit fee and payment will be required in advance for future visits.

Will my insurance reimburse for visits?

Some patients may qualify for insurance reimbursement from their insurance company if they submit an itemized receipt, which we provide at every visit. This varies by payer and we suggest you contact your insurance provider in advance in order to understand their reimbursement policy relative to our services. Our services normally qualify for HSA reimbursement, can be paid with an HSA debit card and are also often reimbursable by many health share plans.  We do not maintain staff to process insurance claims, requests or denials.

Will my insurance pay for labs and tests ordered by Dr. Bradt?

This will vary by your insurance provider, your plan and the testing ordered. We have negotiated self pay discounts for Labcorp costs for those with high deductible plans, health shares or those without insurance. Coverage for integrative medicine testing through functional medicine labs vary by provider and test.

Can Dr. Bradt be my primary care physician?

Dr. Bradt's provides services in a consulting role. You should maintain an ongoing relationship with your primary care physician for all routine health needs, urgent care, preventive screening, referrals, etc. We are available for scheduled appointments during normal office hours. Our office does not maintain an after-hours answering service and we do not typically have same day appointment availability.

What is the best way to contact Dr. Bradt or her office staff?

The best way to contact the office is through your online patient portal using a secure message. Messages can be directed specifically to Dr. Bradt if relating to clinical matters discussed in your visit or to her staff for all other matters. Portal messages will be answered within 3 business days.  We also try to pick up the phone as often as we can! Phone messages will be returned within 2 business days.  You can reach out by email for general questions not related to your medical care (email is not HIPAA secure). We strive to make communication with our office easy and secure.
